In keeping with the intrinsically unstable nature of ‘uncharted terrain’, Frontier maintains an atmosphere where the viewer is left to ask where and when this uninhabited space is situated. Fractured spacetime gives way to the diastrophic restructuring of matter; the sense of disorientation is, oddly, familiar. One perspective locates this desolation as hostile and forbidding, another as an open invitation to a pioneering spirit.
